Young adults say that their parents have a big influence on how they manage money today. However, it seems like parents aren’t totally comfortable talking with their kids about money yet. In T. Rowe Price’s 12th annual Parents, Kids & Money Survey, 40% of parents said they don’t always know the best way to talk to their kids about financial topics, and 53% of parents expect their kids to bring up the topic of money if they have questions or want to learn.

That's where we come in ...

We aim to educate both kids and their parents together.

Managing money isn’t something you’re just supposed to “figure out.” At Finance 101, we break down the financial basics that schools often skip and parent struggle with: how to handle your paycheck, build credit wisely, avoid debt traps, and invest in your future.

We teach real-world skills in a clear, approachable way—because the earlier you understand money, the stronger your future becomes.

What You'll Learn.

Budgeting Basics

Creating a budget isn’t about restrictions—it’s about freedom and control. You’ll learn how to build a simple, realistic plan that fits your lifestyle and goals. We’ll show you how to track your income, manage expenses, and still make room for the things you enjoy. Whether you’re saving for a car, college, or your first apartment, understanding where your money goes is the first step toward real financial confidence.

Saving & Banking

Good money habits start with smart saving. You’ll learn how to make saving automatic, how to choose the right kind of bank account, and why even small deposits can add up over time. We’ll also cover how to build an emergency fund and the importance of keeping your money safe and accessible. These simple steps form the foundation of a lifetime of financial stability.

Credit & Debt

Credit can be a powerful tool—or a costly trap—depending on how it’s used. In this section, we’ll explain how credit scores work, what affects them, and how to use credit cards and loans responsibly. You’ll learn how to avoid common mistakes like missed payments and high-interest debt, and discover strategies to build strong credit early on. Understanding credit now means having more opportunities later.

Investing 101

Once you’ve mastered the basics of saving, it’s time to make your money work for you. You’ll learn the essentials of investing—what it is, how it grows over time, and why starting early matters. We’ll cover key concepts like compound interest, diversification, and risk versus reward in a way that’s easy to understand. Investing isn’t just for the wealthy—it’s for anyone who wants to build long-term financial security and freedom.

Why It Matters.

Every financial decision you make—from your first credit card to your first car loan—shapes your future. By learning the essentials now, you’ll save money, reduce stress, and set yourself up for opportunities that others miss.

Finance 101 gives you the confidence to take charge—not just of your wallet, but of your life.
